The evil Spirit of Time (Frictional story)

The huge beast started running towards Idris at a high speed. Idris looked at the beast, he couldn’t run because his legs were dangerously hurting him.

Without wasting time, he brought out two of his long and sharp arrows.

“whoooop”

“whoooop”

He shot the beast but the beast caught the arrows and broke in into two.

Beast: grrrrrhhhhhhh!!!

The beasts shouted and continue diving towards Idris.

Idris laughed again in pains, he knew that this might be the end of the journey for him. Bringing out three arrows again, he shot the beast with his last hope..

The beast successfully dodged all three arrows making Idris to look in bewilderment, surely this beast is magical as no creature has ever dodge his arrows before.

He couldn’t shoot any arrow again, not because he is out of arrows but because the beast was very close to him.

The beast dived at him with it’s sharp claws and Idris dived forward in a way that he landed safely on the other leg which doesn’t hurt him and he successfull dodged the beast.

King: very very nice.. I love his courage and determination but let’s see if can survive for long.

The king said to himself sitting on golden chair. By this time, the crowd were busy shouting and making noises.

The beast turned and dived again. this time, Idris couldn’t dodge it in time and the beast hit him right across the chest.

He fell down and rolled backwards uncontrollably. The beast took his bow and broke it into two, collected all the arrows and smashed them.

It brought out it’s sharp claws and stroke Idris across his face and chest making him bleed uncontrollably.

King: oh poor boy,, it’s a pity you die and your mission ends here.

Idris tried to stand up but he fell down as a result of too much pains and loss of strength.

The beast quickly ran towards him, lifted him up and threw him to the ground far away from the middle of the arena.

Idris: arghhhhhh!

He groaned in pains, he hasn’t fully recovered from the pains when the beast lifted him up again and threw him to the other side of the arena.

“Could this be the end of my adventure?”,idris thought. Surely, there must be a way to survive this.

He said as he looked around the arena but there wasn’t anything useful he could use. Just some old piece of rusty metals though they were shining and some parts were still polished. They might probably be the helmet of dead and fallen heroes.

He looked at the other side, his broken bow was there and broken arrows too, he couldn’t think straight partially due to the hot bright light from the king’s throne and pains he was feeling.

Idris: wait a minute. light, Iron and…. Yes!!!!!!

He said as the beast took him by his legs and threw him to the other side of the arena again. All the throws has been making him feel very weak and dizzy but this time, as he painfully landed on the other side, he grabbed a piece of metal.

The beast charged again and threw lucky Idris to where his broken bow was. Idris landed painfully again with some internal injuries and broken bones.

He quickly untie the tiny string that was on the bow and held the string on the other hand.

King: Finish him!!!!!!!!!!!

The king shouted and as the beast was running towards Idris, with the help of the metal he picked, he reflected the light emitting from the king’s throne at the eyes of the beast.

The beast couldn’t see its front and loose its balance as it crashed on something hard behind Idris and Idris has earlier rolled out of the beast way.

Before the beast could gain consciousness, Idris took the tiny string and tied it at the beast neck, then with all the power left in him, he started strangling the beast to death.

The beast tried to get hold of Idris or at least, removed the tiny string that was on it’s neck, holding it so tight and preventing him from breathing.

As more time passes by, the beast started getting weak. Idris was also weak but he couldn’t let this once in a life time opportunity passes him.

He tighten his hold on the string and the beast slowly passed away. When he was sure that the beast was fully dead, he removed the string and looked up.

To his surprise, the whole crowd, beast of all forms that were present and even the proud king were all silent.

King: all bow to the choosen one.

He ordered and they bowed.

He ordered and all the beast in all forms that were gathered there all bowed down including the king.

Idris: *not interested in their show of humility* some of my things weren’t given to me. I would appreciate it if you give them to me let me be able to continue my journey.

The king and everyother beast and spirits all stood up.

King: not like this, you are wonded all over, you might get killed on your way to the gatekeeper’s hut by some mean spirit.

Idris: you have wasted my time a lot, would you be so kind to give me my things let me continue my mission.

King: and we still insist you stay. You don’t have anyother options left. Stay without us Idris.

Idris: *looked down* I guess you have succeeded in delaying me again.

He said as two other spirits, different from the ones that brought him to the arena took him out of the arena but this time, they didn’t take him to any cage or prison, they took him to the king’s chamber.

King: I must say I am impressed young Idris.

Idris: *silent*

King: you aren’t the first to battle the beast. They are many warriors, some came with magic, others came with heavy weapons, some where two in numbers but all fell down in the arena, unable to kill the beast.

Idris: *scoffed* they don’t have sense of reasoning that’s why…

The king clapped his hands and a spirit came fort with his belongings and dropped it at the front of Idris.

King: all your things are in tact. Including the necklace giving to you by the king of the sea.

Idris: you sound as if you know him?

King: hahaha, I do. He is my close friend, just like I am the king of the earth, foreseeing everything that goes on on land, he is incharge and control of everything beneath the sea.

Idris : he gave me this necklace, to use and call him whenever I am in danger because I passed his test.

King: yes, that’s why we didn’t give you back the necklace. We wanted to see what you could do.

Idris: the king of the sea, and that of earth, the prophecy had it that I must pass three tests, is their another king near by…
